Privacy Policy

WE WON'T "LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG"

Dolittle Pet Supplies Ltd take your privacy very seriously and will not share your information with any other third party.    It is not in our best interests to irritate you with a bombardment of sales information.   Below are details of the information that we hold of you, how this is done - and why.

INFORMATION THAT YOU PROVIDE TO US

When you register on-line, you will provide us with your name, address, email and telephone number to assist with the sale process.  These details are held in a secure server so that they can be recalled the next time you visit.   As with other on-line ordering processes, a password will also be supplied by you and, again, this is held in our secure server to act as recognition (in conjunction with your email address) when you next visit.  You are able to change your password at any time and our server is able to recognise you and assist should you forget your password.  After all, it happens to all of us at some time or another!

Your email address is used to confirm your order, shipment, and advise you of special promotions, events or other information that we think may be relevant to you.  Should you not wish to receive marketing information then you may quickly and simply unsubscribe from this service - no problem.    We DO NOT share this information with any other third party.

FINANCIAL SECURITY

DoLittle Pet Supplies use SagePay, a well-regarded, international and established, check-out facility for on-line payments.   Your account details are managed by them using  encrypted 128-bit SSL certificates.  Names and addresses are passed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering.

COOKIES

DoLittle Pet Supplies use cookies on this website.    Please find below information that explains exactly what cookies are, the different types of cookies and how they may affect your experience on this website.   Please read these details carefully so that you are comfortable with how we use cookies.

What is a Cookie?

A cookie is information that a website puts on your computer so that it can remember something about you at a later time. Typically, a cookie records your preferences when using a particular site. It recognises you when you navigate different pages of the website, or return to the website.   However, it is important to understand that cookies do not collect or store any personally identifiable information about you. In other words, you are remembered as an anonymous user, and the information stored by cookies is never linked to your name.

Each request for a web page is independent of all other requests. For this reason, the web page server has no memory of what pages it has sent to a user previously or anything about your previous visits. A cookie is a mechanism that allows the server to remember what you have done before on the website and make your experience better.    They can also be used to customise pages for you based on your browser type or other information you may have provided the website. You will find below full details of the cookies used on this website.

The Cookies that We Use

You can view the cookies that have been stored on your hard disk (although the content stored in each cookie may not make much sense to you!). The location of the cookies depends on the browser.

There are 4 types of cookies used on this website:

Session Cookies: allowing us to “remember” the pages you previously visited on our website and the actions you have taken during your session. Those expire at the end of the user session, when you close your web browser.

Persistent Cookies: these take the form of a text file which will be stored by your browser and will remain valid until their set expiry date (unless you delete them before the expiry date). Persistent cookies help us to determine your preferences.

Party Cookies: are owned by us although they can sometimes get set up by Third Parties we work with (e.g. Google Analytics). The data they contain, however, is sent to our servers only.
